Rhian Tracey

Read the kind of books you think you would like to write as a good example to yourself.

Keep a diary - not just about the everyday events but about more complex feelings you are having, look back at your writing and see how you could improve it - this is what Anne Frank did.

Read a wide variety of books so you can see what works and what doesn't.

Try out different styles and genres of writing to work out what you like and what you are good at.

Write about what you know, write about what you don't know and see which you prefer.

Through your writing, say the things you can't always say out loud, visit the places its not physically possible to visit in reality, create characters that you would love to meet, most importantly enjoy yourself when you write, otherwise there's not much point.

Rhian Tracey's first book ‘When Isla meets Luke meets Isla’ is a "snappy account of teenage romance told alternatively by a feisty girl and a dreamy boy".
