Kids on the Net fully respects the privacy of all who visit our
website, especially children.
All submissions to the Kids on the Net, Kids' Castle, Monster
Motel and its sister sites are carefully monitored by our editors.
Contributions are not automatically posted to the website: every
one passes through an editing stage before it is okayed. We may
refuse to publish any work submitted, and we may edit submitted
material.
This is why it may take a few days for your contribution to
reach the website.
Before we publish anything on the website we will remove any
identifying personal information, such as postal addresses, physical
descriptions, last names, phone numbers, names of teachers, etc.
We strongly recommend that you submit only the minimum required information
to any website including our own.

Submitted information is not used for any form of marketing
or solicitation. Kids on the Net does not sell or otherwise share
any information about site visitors with any other third parties,
organizations, companies, groups, or individuals, other than providing
general, non-personally identifiable information as described below.
We collect via server log files certain statistical information
about the users of our site: this does NOT identify individual users.
For example, information such as the geographical location of users
helps us to plan content. Visits from UK and US educational domains
tells us that we have a lot of users in schools in these countries.
We also get visits from over 99 other countries which tells us
we have to make sure the site is accessible to those for whom English
is not their first language.
Information about the browser you are using makes it possible to
plan the site in innovative and interesting ways so as to take advantage
of the available technology. If we know that most users access the site on desktop computers rather than mobile devices then we are able
to use more advanced Web technologies
to improve the content of the site and its interest for you.
Statistics help us promote our free website and other resources,
and it gives us statistics on numbers and locations of users which
are very important for a venture that is dependent on grants and
sponsorship.
Parents and carers have the option to agree to the collection and
use of the child's information without consenting to the disclosure
of the information to third parties. Upon verification of identity
in writing by snail mail, Kids on the Net will provide a summary
of submitted information about a young writer to that young writer's
adult carer. Upon such verification, parents and carers may also
ask for information to be deleted and refuse to allow any further
collection or use of the young writer's information.
We collect email addresses only for the purposes of contacting
young writers to give results of contests and competitions, occasional information
about new contributory projects in our online newsletters, and/or help
with writing.
We retain online contact information in our records only to protect
children's safety and to protect the security or liability of our
site or to respond to law enforcement, if necessary.
We do not allow other organisations or companies to use material
from Kids on the Net without asking permission from Kids on the
Net and the coppyright holders.
