Menu Maker: Recipes from Class 5 at West Twyford

Zain's Hummus Tahina

This is a traditional dish from the Middle East and the home-made version always tastes better than the one from the supermarket

Serves up to 6

Ingredients
1 14-oz can chick peas
1 lemon
2 Tablespoon Tahina (cream of sesame)
pinch of salt
1 clove garlic (optional)

Method
1. Empty the chickpeas into cold water and wash
2. Put in a liquidiser and add ¼ cup cold water
3. Add juice of the lemon, salt, crushed garlic and tahini cream
4. Blend until thickened

Serve cold with crackers, pitta bread or naan
