(Spooksville)
By Andrenette, Age 10, Year 6, Hardwick Junior School,

to see whats on the next chapter. I liked Cindy the best, she was
clever. It is about a man who is trapped in the computer
Soccer
By Khizer, age 12, Year 8, Derby Moor Community School,
Derby
I enjoyed it because it had all football in it and
it was exiting. There was a match going on between Liverpool and
Blackburn and it was 1-0 to Liverpool. Michael Owen scored in the
last minute. I liked Michael Owen because his skill, passion, personality
is great. The way he plays is great and his tactics are wonderful
and great. My favourite part was when Michael Owen ran down the
pitch then did a 1-2 With Steve Macmanaman and then curled it round
the keeper. I liked it very much because the way he runs he runs
at every one. He scares every one when he runs fast and he is red
hot.
Football by Bob Wilson
By Gurpreet, age 12, Year 8, Littleover Community
School, Derby
I enjoyed reading about Football. In this story David
Beckham has got a red card for passing the ball to another team's
player. I disliked David Beckham because he passed the ball to another
team's player. My favourite part of the book was where David Beckham
scored a goal. And I know that David Beckham is a good player. And
I think that everyone should read this book.
Ghost Camp by R.L Stine (GooseBumps)
By Muriel., age 11, Year 7, Village Community School,
Derby.
I enjoyed this book because it was really scary and
the ending was the best because it was the weirdest part of the
book. And I like the weird parts.
My book is about two boys on the way to a camp called
Camp Spirit Moon. They are so excited but when they get there all
this weird stuff keeps on happening to them. My best character was
Harry because when somthing weird happend he always knew what to
do and he had good ideas when he and his brother were in trouble.
My favourite part of the book was when he thought he saw his friend
Sam floating on top the bed instead of lying on it so he ran over
to the light switch and turned it on but Sam was no longer floating
he was tucked in bed fast asleep.
James and the Giant Peach by
Roald Dahl
By Sharenjit, age 9, Year 6, Peartree Junior School,
Derby
I enjoyed James and the Giant Peach. The peach grew
when the green crocodile's tongue fell all over the place on the
hill and James tried to catch them but they just started to disappear
in the ground. Then James' aunts came out and said "Get inside you
little beast now and stop messing around."
"But I wasn't, I tripped." "Beat him Sponge!"
"Okay, oh it's too early." "Well come on, then we
will beat him later in the morning."
"Oh look spiker there's a peach." "What,
on the boy?" "No on the tree." "That tree hasn't
had a leaf on it so where's a peach come from?"
"Oh yeah Sponge that's right tell the boy to take
it off." "No it's still growing." "Yes sponge you're
absolutely right".
Then the peach grew really big and some creatures
started living in the peach and when James ate a bit of the peach
he went inside and jumped through green paper and the creatures
said we thought that aunt Spiker and aunt Sponge have found us just
then.
Then they all flew to NEW YORK CITY over the Atlantic
Ocean. Then the shark nearly ate them in the ocean but the birds
hung on and made the peach fly and the shark exploded in the Atlantic
Ocean and lived altogether in a happy house and told stories to
everyone nearby and everyone wanted to hear them over and over again.

My favourite character in this story was ATTA because
he was the bravest and he stood up for his friends the bugs.

free kick. My favourite part of the book was when Manchester United
scored a goal and that makes me very excited.
And I think that everyone should read it.
The Twits by Roald Dahl
By Gurdeep, age 12, Year 7, Littleover Community
School, Derby
This book is aboat horror.
I enjoyed this book because it was funny. What happened
in the book was every Tuesday, Mr Twit put glue on a dead tree for
bird pie for supper at night. I didn`t like Mr and Mrs Twit because
they where horrible My favourite part of the book was when the four
monkeys put everything upside down.

Derby, UK
I enjoyed this book because it was really scary and
I've seen it on Television too. In this story there was a boy who
found a camera and it was a magical camera. I like the boy who solved
the problem and I disliked the ghost because you know that the ghosts
are very dirty. and my favourite part of the book was where it was
scary and where the ghost was dead. And I think that everyone should
read it.

Girls under Pressure by Jacqueline
Wilson
By Kelly, age 11, Peartree, Derby, UK
I enjoyed this book because it was exciting and very
good. Well, it's about 3 girls that are under a lot of presssure.
One thinks she's very FAT. Ellie is the person that is fat and Magda
is the one that goes after the boys and Nadine is the same as Magda.
I liked all of it! Some people might enjoy this book.
White Fang by Jack London
By Alex, age 11, Nottingham, UK
I thought this book was really good. It wasn't like
most animal books where the animals talk to each other, but Jack
London made it seem like they're still communicating. In places
the book is really heart-breaking, some bits gripping, and some
really happy.
The book is about a 3-quarters wolf and 1-quarter
dog, who is the only survivor of the litter and has to fight to
stay alive. When he was still a cub, he was taken in by men and
couldn't live without them. He changed hands several times until
the very satisfactory ending.
This is a briiliant book, and I would recommend it
to anyone 9-15.

This is a verse from the book:

just gulp them down in one
as you pick them from your nose.

it.

makes this story good.

cornflake packet!
Don't Go To Sleep! By R. L.
Stine
By Shazia, age 10, Year 6, St. James Junior School,
Peartree, Derby, UK
This story is about a boy, who has one elder brother
and an elder sister. He think's they are a pain in the neck, because
they are always in his room and always teasing him. He has parents
who are divorced. His dad lives seperately, his mum lives with them
but is never at home. She goes to work in the day and night. The
boy hates his small bedroom, and wants the guest's room. When his
mother came back from work in the day, he asked her if could have
the guest's room but the answer was no. He felt angry and went and
slept in the guest's room. When he woke up, he felt strange. He
was the eldest and his brother and sister were smaller. He got up
and went to brush his teeth, then went downstairs when he saw a
lady and man who were imitating his parents.
"Good Morning, Darling."
"Who are you?" shouted the boy!
"We're your parents! Come and sit down and have your breakfast".
He had a bad day at school and it kept on carrying on day by day.
I really enjoyed the book!
Goosebumps Say Cheese and Die
By R. L. Stine
By Jaskiran, age 11, Year 7, Landau Forte School,
Derby, UK
I really enjoyed this book.
Greg found a camera and he took it home. It took weird
photos and the photos he took really came true. So he wanted to
return the camera back to the Coffman's house. He asked his friend
Shari to come with him. When they got there they went to the basement
and put the camera where they found it. They heard footsteps. In
came Spidey, the man who lived there. He said 'I will not hurt you'
and Spidey told them everything he knew about it and said 'I can't
let you go' but they escaped.
I liked Shari because she was brave to go back to
the Coffman's house.
My favourite part was when Shari disappeared and Greg
ripped up the photo and Shari came back.
I think that everyone should read it.
