Francine's Machine Castle

My day today was a good day, I did many things around the castle. The castle is huge of course. The biggest, hugest castle ever to be made in the world!! (It's even bigger than Sir William's last castle). Then of course I went out to the tournaments, fed the dogs, went down to the stable, and let out that guy in the dungeon....even though none of those are my jobs!!! It's my castle!!! and I love it!! Lady Delaney of Winston

Today has been a very special day for me because my husband, Lord Delaney has just finished the garden that he made for me and I am allowed to go for a walk in it.

After breakfast is when I was allowed to go. My maid and pet dog came with me. The garden is in the outer bailey so the sun can shine into the garden.

I love the neat gravelled paths on which you walk. The lilies, marigolds, gillyflowers and of course my favourite flowers, roses.
On the walls there are climbing vines, they make the wall look very attractive.

From now on I am going to go every day. February 2003

Princess Nia

O, what a lovely day. I think living in a castle is so fun but it was very dirty in there. Living in a castle must have been so hard. I wouldn't like to live in a castle because it was hard to stay there for a day. I enjoyed my lunch it was FABULOUS! It was cold in there I hope to see other castles in future. February 2003

Countess Salaidh

I am quite disgusted with Father, for he has obsurely culled my favorite hatchling from our flock of dragons. "The rules are very much impartial, if you ask ME" he he says. Ha! Of course he thinks they're fair; he made them! And now here I sit, in deliberation. How shall I confront my father next? February 2003

Lady Katie

Day 13:
When I get up, I look out of the tiny little crack of a window, nothing. I get bored here, watching the days go by. I am bored out of my skull!! I may as well rot here... because I am up here so much, when a fly comes in my room, I watch it. I watch it because that will be probably be the most interesting part of my day… February 2003

Dear diary,
Today in the castle there will be a tournament. The castle is a ok place to live. It's tough to be a woman in the middle ages you are expected to smile and be ladylike all the time. Also you have to do what the men tell you to do. Well now you know what its like to live in a castle in the middle ages now would you like to live in the middle ages you tell me.

Lady Nottingham

I woke up, oh my! what a day every one hassling me over the big wedding. You see I am getting married to the Knight of Nottingham everyone thought I was going to marry the King but he refused me. He said that I was too good for him . What a fool! I saw him with the the Lady of Newcastle! ( if you ask me she looks better bald!!!) Anyway they dressed me up. (Satin not silk since I was marrying a KNIGHT!! oh the shame!) when I entered the chapel, every one was tutting me. I swear I could have killed them! After I got married, I left the country with my husband, what a time we had (I swear I'm starting to like this boy!!!!!). November 2002

Nadine, 11, Malta

Lady Clare

Today is a dark and gloomy day in the castle. Everyone is filled with sorrow and mourn because Sir Cedric has died in battle. He was a brave knight and we all loved him very much. Nobody was as close to him as me, his sister. October 2002

Lucy, 9, South Carolina, USA

Monica

I woke up early and put on my red velvet robe. I walked down the long hall and down 200 windy stairs towards the banquetroom. I sat down for breakfast where Robert served the Monday special breakfast which consisted of eggs, bacon, toast, jam, and vanilla pudding. The feast was grand. October 2002
