Chapter Five

"Stop! This is our invention!" Pinash, Proddle and Pazaz called out as they pushed their way through the crowd.

A strange looking robot that looked just like Daisy followed them in. They had invented this robot to enter into the Rose Cup and help Daisy get home safely. They stood on top of the stage so that they could introduce Daisy 2 to the Galaxy. The splendid looking Pinkerellian was very impressed with Pinash, Pazaz and Proddle’s invention.

"No, this is my invention. I found it" said the Pinkerellian angrily, in Pinko as he pushed Daisy forward.

Daisy was now very confused. She shouted, "Stop, all of you. If you’re going to argue, I’ll be no-one's invention. All I want is to just go home."

"Hey!" said the Judge "how can you find an invention?"

The Pinkerellian man stuttered for a moment. "Umm, and well ohh. Did I say I found her? I meant I made her."

"How can you make her if she’s a human?" Pazaz asked.

"What? She’s not a human! I made her, I did, I did, I really did." said the Pinkerellian wearily.

"SHE IS A HUMAN", shouted Pazaz, very angrily, "we picked her up from Earth."

"I am a human", Daisy said, almost crying, "I’m no-ones invention. I just want to go home!"

"That’s what we planned to do", said Pazaz "by inventing Daisy 2 who will take your place".

The Judges disqualified the Pinkerellian for cheating, as he had tried to use a human as an invention. The contest began.

The Judges went around and looked very closely at the other inventions. Whilst everyone was watching the contest in amazement Daisy crept out the back of the stadium and stole an unattended spaceship. Back at the stadium first prize was awarded to Captain Pinash and his crew, for the invention of Daisy 2.

Captain Pinash said, "Let’s share the good news with Daisy", but they couldn’t find her.

Everyone in the stadium started to look for her but no one could find her.

Then in burst a Pinkerellian named Pat. Pat angrily yelled, "Right, who has stolen my spaceship? No-one is leaving this stadium until I find it and the Pinkerellian who stole it!".

Mean while, Daisy had launched the spaceship into space. As she started her journey home, she saw a large looking fireball heading straight for her. Daisy realised it was a comet and started to scream uncontrollably and accidentally knocked a blue lever. As the lever moved, the door started to slowly creek open. All of a sudden, there was a loud crushing noise as the comet smashed into the side of the spaceship. As the spaceship crashed around Daisy found herself being sucked out through the open door into space.

Back at the stadium, the Pinkerellians were still looking for Daisy until Pinkerellian Pat realised that Daisy had to be the one who stole his spaceship. Pinkerellian Pat sent out the Pinka Police to find his stolen spaceship and Daisy.

The Pinka Police searched space for hours and hours until they eventually found the spaceship and boarded it. Captain Pinash and his crew had followed the Pinka Police and ran in after them, but Daisy wasn’t there. They continued their search for Daisy, looking high and low, calling her name "Daisy".

Out of the corner of his eye, Pazaz noticed Daisy’s salt shaker scattered near the open door and realised that Daisy must be lost in space. Their search for Daisy continued out in space, until Officer Pinkle of the Pinka Police finally saw Daisy.

She was floating towards the dreaded Black Hole.

"HELP" Daisy screamed. "HELP".

As the Pinka police tried to decide what to do, Proddle jumped forward and said "I'll risk my life to save Daisy from the black hole!"

Proddle jumped into space and flapped his legs to try and reach Daisy, but just as he got near enough to grab her, Daisy heard "WAKE UP, DAISY!".

She opened her eyes to see Cook, standing above her, yellin’ "GET UP, AND GET BACK TO WORK!". Looking around Daisy realised that she wasn’t about to enter a black hole in space, but was back on Earth in Cook’s garden. "I must have fallen asleep" Daisy said to Cook and started to rise. As Daisy rose, a pink light in the sky caught her eye and she saw a pink spaceship with 3 Pinkerellians, waving at her from space.

Daisy rubbed her eyes and looked again, but they had disappeared.
