The Doggie Abduction
By Jenifer, 14
It was the year 3076.
That was about six years, three months, and twenty-six days since I had
encountered the Dog people on the planet Paws. I remember it like it was
yesterday. I could tell it just the way it happened, and in full detail.
It all started on one hot, humid summer day. I was playing ball with my
friend, Sammy. I liked ball very much. It was my favorite game. Well anyway,
that's not part of the story. To get on with what I was saying, I was
playing ball with Sammy when all of the sudden, I heard a disturbing noise.
It sounded as though someone was blowing a whistle. Sammy stopped dead
in his tracks. I ran over to him. From nowhere, a gigantic flying saucer
shaped like a chew toy lowered itself very slowly to the ground. Sammy
looked as frozen as an ice cube in the snow. I sniffed the air to get
a better idea of what was in front of us. Suddenly, out of the large space
craft unrolled a big, red ramp, shaped much like a Milk Bone. Upon the
ramp, a tall, brown, skinny, dog-like figure was standing, dressed in
a beautiful, red robe.
Sammy and I were both terribly frightened. I licked his hand, just to
give him some comfort. The dog creature started to walk off of the ramp,
inching towards us. Then suddenly, he spoke. "Earthlings," he barked in
dog language, "you must come with me in order of the princess of the planet
Paws."
I could clearly understand what the alian creature was saying of course,
because he spoke in my language. But as for Sammy, he stood puzzled, not
knowing what was said. I was curious at that time. Very curious, in fact.
What was this creature that looked and talked so much like myself? Who
was the princess, and what did she want with some mixed breed mutt and
a ten year old little boy? My mind was filled with questions.
We were loaded onto the ship. What I saw made me think that I was in Doggy
Heaven. There were cushions everywhere; big ones which were shaped like
bones, and real bones to eat, too! Everything a pup could want was right
here on this ship. Maybe this won't be so bad, I thought to myself. If
the planet Paws is this wonderful, I don't think I'll ever want to leave.
Just then, I remembered Sammy. Where was he? He wasn't on the ship anywhere.
I peered out of a tiny window. Sammy was on the ground below, looking
straight up at the ship which I was in and he was not. I whimpered. I
couldn't go anywhere without my best friend. I began to feel my heart
sink down to the bottom.
Moments after arriving on the ship, we came to a complete stop. We must
have been on the planet Paws now. The tall "Dog Man", as I called him,
forced me off of the ship by grabbing me by the collar. From there, he
carried me for what seemed like hours upon hours. We came to a stop. We
were in front of a huge, dog biscuit shaped palace, surrounded by a moat
filled with not water, but dog biscuits. I was glorified at what I had
seen for the brief moment I had seen it. We then entered the palace.
Inside the palace was even more beautiful than what was outside. With
a Milk Bone water fall in the center and trees all around, I felt that
I was in a paradise. The "Dog Man" came to a hault when we were in front
of the most beautiful thing I had ever seen. She had long fur as golden
as a diamond ring, and her eyes sparkled a chrystal blue. She was dressed
in a beautiful purple robe, which seemed to sparkle in the light.
"Princess Malla," barked the "Dog Man", "I've brought the Earth being
you wanted.
The princess, I thought.
How wonderful she looked, and I could see in her eyes that she was as
kind as she was beautiful.
"Yes," she said, "I see."
She looked at me. "Let me introduce myself, my dear. I'm Princess Malla.
I rule the planet of Paws. Paws really is a wonderful, peaceful, beautiful
planet, as you can see, but it's in great danger. You see, someone has
stolen my chrystal necklace. Without it, I can't get anyone to respect
our kingdom, and that means that anyone can invade our planet. That's
very dangerous. And I need an Earth dog to find the necklace, because
only a dog from Earth is smart enough and has the right sense of smell
to find it."
I was slightly puzzled, but I decided that I would help.
I began my search in a huge, dark cave at the edge of the kingdom. It
was so very dark, and so very cold. I didn't think that anyone would be
there, but I was wrong. As I went deeper into the cave, I could hear the
snarls and growls of some hideous beast. Just as I was going to turn back,
I felt myself being pushed into the ground as if I were hit by a tsunami.
Above me stood a large, hideous bull dog-like creature, and around his
neck was the necklace! The creature tried biting at my neck, but I ducked
and ripped the necklace from his neck. That was perhaps a dumb move, because
that caused the creature to chase me, wildly about the cave.
I ran so much, I nearly died. This animal was big, but he sure could run.
I finally made it out of the cave, though the creature was still chasing
me. I ran into the palace and shut the gate. The creature was no longer
trailing behind me because I was now inside the palace.
"Princess," I had panted, " I've got your necklace right here." I handed
over the golden treasure.
"How lovely," said the princess, "but that didn't take very long at all.
Not what I had expected. Well, since you've done your job for me, I guess
you can go home now."
That's it, I thought. I was dragged all the way to this strange planet
just to find a necklace and leave? Suddenly, I realized what I was thinking.
How could I be so selfish? Sammy was probably worried sick about me. "I
guess I'll go home, now." I said with a sigh.
"Wait a minute." said Malla, holding something in her paw. "Take this
with you. It's a golden necklace, one like mine. If you ever want to come
back, just think of me and you'll be here." At that moment, the princess
gave me something I had never experienced before- a kiss! I felt like
I was a fire cracker. The princess just smiled.
We loaded back on the ship. I was wearing the golden necklace Malla had
given me, treasuring the precious gift. In the blink of an eye, I was
back where I was before my obduction.
Sammy was lying there, asleep. I trotted over to him and licked his face.
"Cut it out, boy," he giggled. "I had the strangest dream while I was
asleep. I dreamed that some goofy looking space ship came down and took
you away. That's silly, isn't it?" I wagged my tail. Just then, he noticed
the necklace. "Where'd you..." he stopped for a moment, "Oh, let's go
home boy."
